Privacy Policy
Last updated 25 August 2026
RollSift collects nothing. There is no account, no server, and no analytics. Your photos never leave your iPhone — not to us, not to anyone.
This policy covers the RollSift iPhone app published by Chapin Holdings (“we”, “us”). It describes the App only. It does not cover any other product or website we operate.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information through the App. Specifically:
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any contact details.
- We do not collect payment or financial information (see Purchases below).
- We do not collect device identifiers, advertising identifiers, or location data.
- We do not collect usage analytics, crash reports, or diagnostics.
- We do not use cookies, trackers, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics of any kind.
- There is no account to create and no way to sign in.
Your photos
RollSift asks for permission to your photo library because that is what the App does: it shows you your photos one at a time so you can keep or delete them. Everything happens on your device. Your photos and videos are never uploaded, copied to a server, backed up by us, or seen by us. We could not retrieve one if you asked.
You can grant full access or limited access, and you can change or revoke that permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → RollSift. Under limited access the App only ever sees the photos you choose to share with it.
The one thing that leaves your device
If you open the information sheet for a photo that has GPS coordinates saved in it, the App asks Apple’s location service to turn those coordinates into a readable place name, so it can show you where the photo was taken. That request is handled by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. It goes to Apple, never to us, and we receive nothing from it. It happens only for that one photo, only when you open that sheet, and nowhere else in the App. There is no other networking code in RollSift.
Information stored on your device
The App saves a few things locally so it can work between launches: which photos you have already decided on, your daily allowance, your filter and sort preferences, your streak, and totals for how much space you have freed. This stays in the App’s own storage on your iPhone. It is not transmitted anywhere, and deleting the App removes all of it.
Purchases
RollSift Pro is sold as an in-app subscription through Apple. Apple processes the payment and we never see your card details, billing address, or Apple Account information. The App checks your subscription status through Apple’s StoreKit service on your device. Apple’s handling of purchase data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
Children
RollSift is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages, because it collects no data from anyone. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — or from adults.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data a company holds about you, and to opt out of its sale. We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to hand over, correct, delete, or sell. We have never sold or shared personal information, because we have never had any.
Everything the App stores is on your own device and entirely under your control: revoke photo access in Settings, or delete the App to erase all of it.
Data retention and security
We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Data saved locally stays on your device and is protected by your iPhone’s own encryption and passcode.
Changes to this policy
If this ever changes — for example if a future version of the App adds a feature that needs a server — we will update this page and the “last updated” date above, and disclose it in the App Store privacy details before that version ships.
